Olavinlinna, Savonlinna
As a refresher to new readers, this blog features Finnish photos my great grandaunt Saima's amateur photographer husband Emil took during the first decades of the 1900's.
I'm happy to share the news that this journey with Emil and his photos now carries on for another album's length. My dear aunt P delighted me with a smaller album, the photos of which are clearly a selection of the finer and more successful prints than the ones featured in the first album since that included also photos with fingerprints and photos that were crossed out with pencil. There are some duplicate photos between the two albums, too, the better prints naturally in this new one. I'm not entirely sure if Emil made his own prints, but I've always assumed so, since it's unlikely he'd otherwise have had the poor prints in his possession at all.
I will be sharing the second album with you one photo at a time, Monday thru Friday.
